SenseMaker®

SenseMaker® is one of the few software systems to be built on basis of natural rather than management science. It is designed to augment rather than replace human decision making.

What can it do for you?

SenseMaker® is a software core which provides a platform on which to gather, process, and visualise knowledge. While this is the goal of the architecture, it can provide much more. We are in the process of opening the platform to allow plugins or widgets to be created which can be focused on each of the goals of capture and retrieval. We will watch as new tools and ideas emerge and we hope and expect that all of the external developments on the software will be rolled back into the core and we can share all of the innovations through the SenseMaker® platform.

What does that mean for you? That means that when you are purchasing SenseMaker® you are no longer purchasing a static piece of software. You are now purchasing a growing, almost organic piece of software that adapts and changes to the needs of the users. The users who have been through a development course will help to drive direction and develop pieces of the software that will then be made available to you.

Ecology Overview

SenseMaker® expands on the insights drawn from humanities on creating new approaches to the understanding and sharing of knowledge and information. The platform shifts the paradigm from a structured application to a shared experience of combining people and technology in growing and adaptive systems.

Information Gathering

Sensemaker® makes use of the Collector™ tool to capture or collect information in the form of stories or fragments. Humans are a story telling animal, and sharing information through stories is easy an natural. Through the adaptive ecology any number of widgets can be combined into creating the ultimate information gathering tools.

Knowledge awareness

Data in, data out. Easy enough to say, but what does it all mean? Once the data has been captured, there is a need to discover the knowledge held within that data Converting that data into information. Through the use of the adaptive ecology agents can be created which analyse the data in its raw form and add metadata to increase the knowledge worth of that data.

Sense Making

You know what you have, but you don't know how what is important. A very common problem in the days of information overload. Through the use of the Explorer™ tool analysing that data through visual means becomes easier. Through the adaptive ecology widgets can be created and combined on a canvas to meet any reporting needs, dynamic or static.
